Asia further on the rise.

This years leading trade show in the APAC region announced its largest ever conference programme.  Organised by Messe Berlin (Singapore) ITB Asia established a credible and international knowledge-sharing platform coming in its 4th year. New this year was the extension of the programme by TTG Travel Agent Conference and the Asia for Asia Conference as well as ITB Asia Association Day. 800 exhibiting companies from 60 countries showed their programmes and offers to the trade industry. In many speeches the general trend was significantly  pointed out: Asia is further on the rise. It has already 22% of tourism-share worldwide and will further increase. Especially the markets India and China are the top-players.

Three key-aspects have been identified for the future: Flexibility is the keyword here: Take the example of Singapore Airlines which  founded parallel a low-cost carrier. This will continue and in 2012 50% of air traffic will be generated by LCCs in Asia. Secondly there will be new
partnerships between airlines and online travel agencies as a new form of  distribution channels. And finally training of staff is very important for the success in the travel industry.
